Still On the Road

Don't you carry nothin' that might be a load..

It's my second blog and I'm still going with the Wizard of Oz theme. Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion are well on their way by now and so am I. Getting out of the gate took a little longer than expected. There were numerous edits and re-dos but all in all the experience was positive. I managed to get locked out of my blog for being 'in violation'. For a while I wondered if it were something I said but later learned that this was a filtering issue with the blogging site. Whew! No jail time this round. Then, there were the times when I couldn't figure out how to get to the screen that allowed me to edit my entry..but alas, the clouds parted and light shone into the darkness of my mind.

Overall, I've had an interesting first attempt and I'm still excited. This week's assignment asks how blogging can be used in libraries. This being my first actual blogging endeavor, limits me in the knowledge and extent to which such a vehicle would be useful to library patrons. Therefore, I will share what I've leaned from an outside source by saying blogging could increase a library's visibility to the virtual community via pod casting of programs such as story times. Whew! Let's see what next week's assignment brings!
